The Valley of Light Ministries churches are part of the Global Methodist Church. We believe in the truth of scripture and how it should lead us to live our lives and serve others.
Serving our communities is a passion for both the Homer City and Black Lick churches. Homer City is very involved in their community by helping run the Ramps of Hope Ministry through ICAAP. They also are active in community events such as the Hoodlebug Festival, where they are active in the Saturday Night Worship service and the annual Christmas Parade where they have a float that, along with other churches in the community, tells the real Christmas story. Black Lick is very involved by hosting a free meal on the second and forth Thursday's of each month. Anyone is welcome. They also are involved in the Christmas in the Village celebration held each year.
Both churches are involved in Missions in the community and abroad. They have an annual mission trip to Anchorage, Alaska to serve the children by providing food and Bible School in the city parks for the latchkey kids. Both support a missionary in Zaire who is working to bring women and children to Christ as she helps to train them to build their own small businesses. Christmas Shoe Box drives as well as helping the Lumpbee Indians of North Carolina are also key ways we help abroad. Locally, we help with meals and clothing for displaced families of fires as well as supplying the local food banks with resources.
Pastor Bob teaches and preaches from a solid biblical perspective that makes the Bible come alive and lets scripture challenge, empower and at times judge us so that we can live more faithful lives in Christ. He believes that God placed this churches where they are so that they can do the ministry needed to bring people to Gods' kingdom. Both churches have long standing histories in their communities and have a long history yet to write in service to Christ.
Valley of Light Ministries exists to serve our communities in a way that makes disciples for Jesus Christ and spreads scriptural holiness.
- Scriptural Holiness
- Passionate Worship
- Making Disciples of Christ
- Serving the communities we call home
Valley of Light Ministries, through the work of the Holy Spirit, seeks to bring the Kingdom of God to our communities by making disciples of Christ, sharing the truth of scripture and create a congregation that worships passionately, loves extravagantly and witnesses boldly.
We believe that God has placed us in our communities to be His light. By being involved with the community and "loving our neighbors as ourselves", we are fulfilling the call of Christ to "Go, Preach and Teach...to the ends of the Earth."
We love our church leadership! Learn more about the pastoral team of Valley of Light Ministries.
